I'm only a crossdresser at the moment. No hormones or anything. But, I can't figure out if I actually have gender dysphoria/GID. I've never actually been to a doctor/therapist about it, but from all that I've read, I believe I have it.
The thing is, I have these...phases of dressing and 200% wanting to go through with everything, then I'll wake up one day and not want anything to do with it.
Is this something that normally happens or is it just me? :?

Im no expert but maybe you are afraid of what people, friends, or family might think if you come out as you want to be.

Ive met a few transsexuals in my day and one thing I know is none of them ever had any doubt in their minds and didn't have to *figure* it out. Obviously, this does not describe you. You are probably just confused and exactly what you are, a cross dresser or maybe a little more serious...a transvestite.

Elcoyote - I am, hehe. Most of my friends (The one's who won't blab to everyone) know already. People...yeah, I'm kind of nervous still. I'm good in shopping malls and places with a lot of people all the time. But like, if I'm at Meijer or something I freak out a little. Family is a whole different story... I'm definitely scared of what they'll think
Mznatalie - I'm kinda confused on what exactly I "am." I pretty much consider myself female, but then there's the days when I don't feel it at all. It might just be the outside stress messing with my head. I know, however, if/when I go through with hormones, therapy, etc., I won't regret it at all.
Another thought, could it possibly be my subconcious "100% female" and my "Occasionally female, occasionally male" concious conflicting, without me actually knowing it?

My personal opinion would be to wait it out since you are feeling the way you are feeling until you know for sure this is who you are.

`I have exactly the same problem. Some days I want to be totally female and others I don't think about it at all. I've been thinking of this since I was early teens. I wish I had started then. I'm afraid of family and friends and have thought about running away to a new life. Am afraid of looking like a guy in a dress too. I don't know if hormones could change me that much.

`megararissa .
You do not as you put it have gender dysphoria/gid if you did you would not be doubting your S-- and as for you taking hormones! sorry to tell you this but you whould be making a big mistake , would you like to know why? well i'm gonna tell you anyway.
You are a crossdresser/transvestite you have admited that wether you think you have or not (read your posts) you "will" date genetic females and most likely fall in love with one some day , if you take hormones and you manage to father a child the child will have defects , hormones will mess your sperm up and your ability to have a good s----l relationship .
Have a serious think before you bring another life into this world and your (looking at your posts) ignorance on the subject and you not even being able to S-- yourself! its not whats between your legs its whats between your ears that you need to concentrate on.
Julia .

Not everyone falls on the gender binary. Some people identify in the middle, as both, or neither. Although I agree that hormones would be a mistake while you're on the fence like this, it does not mean you're 'not trans' just because you're not committed to one gender.
It could also, as some people have said, be partly due to expectations of others around you influencing your decisions. However, only a professional can really help you know what's truly going on. It might be in your best interest to find trans-related therapy in your area and see where that takes you.
Don't let anyone pressure you to transition before you're ready, either. You might never be ready, and as said above - that could be a huge mistake.

`My advice would be to seek therapy, not because there is something wrong with how you feel...but it always help to have a neutral person to talk to. My other piece of advice is not to rush into anything, or feel the need to label everything...it will all come in time.

@megamarissa,,i think as early as now,you should ask yourself first,,if u want to just crossdress for the next ten years or for the rest of your life,,you should know if u are comfortable being like that in front of your friends or loved ones everyday,,or ask yourself if you see yourself in the future as a drag queen or having a skeleton in the closet or being a full time woman,,do not reconcile your s----l attraction against your s----l orientation,,coz they are both different aspects,if u can afford to have hormone therapy and if that is your choice, then do it,,but if u just enjoy wearing girly clothes,, *nalyze yourself more even if you consult all the best doctors or s----l councilors or psychologist,, at the end of the day, the only one who can help you in identifying your true self is that person you see in front of your mirror everyday,,
