As people in general we all talk. Most of what we hear is either complaining or bragging. Neither of witch any of us like listening too. Our biggest problem most people struggle with no matter what color you are, gender or country you are from, is lack of money. I hate politics, but yes it plays a roll. I am only 25 years old. I was raised knowing how to budget funds. But how do you budget when there are no funds? You don't.
I'd like to share what I've learned. I'm not rich, lower middle class. I still often wonder where my next pack of cigs are coming from & how I am going to fill my truck with gas. I've spent my whole life jumping from job to job because of one reason or another. All I want is a steady income. Same as all us want but it's only gonna happen if YOU do it.
Right now you have to look at what people use & want a lot. Fast food, movie rentals, hardware stores, etc do very well. But we don't have the ability to start such a thing because it takes a lot of money too get off the ground. I started my adventures small & slow. I went from one thing to the next, lost & sometimes broke even. You really have to find something you can enjoy. I've always been the active type. But I don't like making the other guy all the money. One thing you must always keep in mind is competition. It's always there, ignore it. I love fixing vehicles & towing. Always wanted a business doing so.
Stop thinking BIG. I started as a back yard mechanic. Everyone knows what that is. The guy who fixes everything cheap on the ground. Not very trusting. Doing a job for $20 here & $60 there. Big whoop. And few & far in between. Although because people don't have a lot of money they still tend to use the back yard mechanics.
With that said, it's not just us hurting. It's also those who have to offer what we need. In Rockford Illinois it's a slum. Businesses are boarded up. Not just small one's. So building's are cheaply rented out. I found a small shop with a hoist for $500 a month. Not a bad deal. There are a lot of building's around here converted out for shop use.
A small step. A real shop & a legit DBA. The DBA was only $10 plus I had to run it in local newspaper for three weeks at a fee of $35. To me this doesn't seem like much but when you tell other's you have a business license & a building their like... wow. Yeah ok whatever. Anyone can do it.
I'm starting small & working my way up. I'm not taking out loans. I save as much as possible in witch is VERY little. So when I finally have something, it's bought & paid for. Not on payments. Yes tools are expensive. Do a job, invest your earnings in the tool you need for the next job. By the next job you have what tool you need. Now your profit is mostly just that, profit.
Little by little, slowly by time you build yourself up. Never expect anything over night or by the next day. People ask me all the time. How did you did it? Mom & Dad give you the money? Are your parents rich? Hell no. And I'm not rich either. I live with my parents. Yeah I pay rent. But what is mine is mine.
The point of this post isn't only too answer the question I always get asked. It's also to give hope & an idea to others. Responsibility is KEY. Now there you go, you didn't pay jack to get the answer on how to make money. I gave the answer to you in cold hard facts. Listen or don't.
