Profile photos...

I need to vent a little frustration. On other dating sites, I don't really respond to profiles that don't have a photo. When I first started online dating, I didn't have this rule, but after a couple of "blind" first meetings, it quickly became a rule. This site is a little different, however. I can understand someone not necessarily wanting to out themselves to just anyone and, so, I've been a little more lenient when it comes to someone lacking a profile photo.

What's been happening lately, however, is that those without photos are claiming a technical reason for not having one. One stated that they'd submitted photos for approval and were waiting months for them to be approved. After a bit of back and forth, this person asked for my personal email address and that they would send them there. I gave them the "junk mail" address I give to most websites online as a starting point in conversation. Of course, I never heard from them... or if I did, it was in the form of spam.

I've also now heard the "site is not Mac-friendly" excuse... which doesn't fly with me because, guess what... I'm on a Mac and haven't had a problem.

Again, I can understand why someone might not want to have a pic on this site, but at least be honest about it.

I don't want to have to go back to refusing to deal with profiles without pics, but it seems that's what is necessary. *sigh*

`I'd go back to the profile pic rules you have in place. I figure people have their reasons. Why bother asking the question in the first place.
