Hello. I've been binding for about four years now, using binders from underworks. I've been on testosterone for three years and i'm currently saving up for top surgery. I've lost loads of weight over the past year or so which has really improved my confidence. But i'm finding after binding for so long that my chest gets pretty sore and i'm concerned the skin wont be good enough to have the surgery. I'm hoping to have my surgery some time next year hopefully. Does anybody know a better way to bind or one thats less painful? Any suggestions?

What are you currently using? If you don't mind me asking...how "big" are you? The reason is that there are different methods depending on size.

Yes, be careful with binding. You shouldn't do it for more than 8 hours a day. Even that's stretching it. (Though as we all know, it's so easy to go over this limit, and how often do we have a say in the matter? Life happens.)
Your skin should be fine for surgery. But be careful of pain. If there's pain you may have damaged some tissue, whether it be lungs or diaphragm. Go to a doctor and have it looked at. If it worsens, stop binding.
