Hey guys, I just starting referring to myself as being trans. I'm pre-T as well as pre-op. I have a particularly large chest. Does anyone else have this problem? And how do you go about binding/hiding it? I've tried binding but it hurts so much that I can't breathe. Unfortunately I don't have the finances to go to Underworks for binders. I'm sure having really bad asthma is not helping.

`All I had for you was underworks. The best thing to do is save for the triple binding tank. It works great man.

I used Ace bandages at first, which I got some bad scarring from, and it was just painful.

Layering helps a lot as well, but if your not wrapping it won't do much for you.

I am also pre-op, and pre-transition. I am working on changing my name, b/c I believe I am passable enough. Then I am saving up for my psychiatrist.

I completely understand about having a difficult time with money. It has taken me time to get any where myself. The only thing I could do was save up slowly. Just try to think about how much better it will be when you can reach your goal, it helps.

And I can promise you that when you get the tank from underworks you will be so happy you did. I can't even imagine using bandages again. .

Oh don't wash it though, cause it doesn't hold well at all after that. So try not to sweat too much xDDDDDDD

`Oh binders are so much better. Like Sebastian, I would never even THINK of using an ace wrap again. Those a really friggin painful compared to a good binder. I've never tried underworks, but I'm sure they work just as well as the one I have. Trust me, its worth the expense. I'm not sure about you, because everyone is different, but for me, having a binder actually really helped calm my dysphoria. So while it is a bit of a luxury in terms of expense, its so worth it.

`Like the two before me I started with ace bandages... It was painful an hard to breath. I also have asthma and found that though it didn't do a great job binding a small or x-small athletics spandex shirt did enough to pass about 75% of the time and make me feel good about me. The biggest issue with this is the shirts stretch real easy. I agree with above guys your best bet is to save up.

`Hello. I dont know if any of this will be helpful but maybe it will. I am a person that started and went backwards. What I did for a time that worked, was I started working out and dieting like a convict. It sounds trivial but the results were astonishing. I went from a D to being an A with just skin and glands. I cut my carbohydrates drasticly and that sent me into major fat burning mode. Since breast tissue is largely comprised of fat tissue I lost all my breasts. There wasnt much to hide, just skin. I could rock the hell out of a suit and no one the wiser. However, in case you look at my pic and go WTF? This is just me, but I wasnt happy. I have extremely wide hips even when I am underweight. That was my problem. My upper body is tiny was tiny and my hips were just really obvious. I have since 'gone back' and found sort of a common ground but rather then having the loose skin removed (my breast tissue never came back) I had implants.

At first I went with ace bandages, too. It was hard to breathe (the bandages are designed to adjust to resistance, so they actually tighten with normal daily activity). I have really mild asthma, but had it bad when I was a kid, and my ribcage is small (an ex said I had 'smoker's ribs', though I've never been a smoker).

I haven't looked into Underworks, but I will. I bought a binder from T-Kingdom a couple of years ago which suited my purposes then, but I also did the diet thing (though I don't like to call it a diet, because it's more of a lifestyle change). I'm a green tea and acai fiend, and I also cut out simple carbs and refined sugars, and anything that isn't real or natural. Mine have shrunk a whole lot, and now a sports bra and undershirt (or sometimes not even the extra shirt) works just fine, and is a whole lot more comfortable for me. I'll be really remiss if that fatty tissue comes back, but I've always had a really high metabolism to begin with.

I found that the binder I had, which was a zip-up, made the placement of my breasts just that more obvious after a while, pressing them together, especially after they shrank and it was easier with just the sports bra.

Also, mannerisms and posture, and generally trying not to slip into effeminately socialized patterns can make a big difference as to whether or not you give them away to general view. A lot of the way weight is distributed in the female body, and the way we've learned to move and stand, just peers rubbing off on us, I've noticed girls tend to lean a lot and arch their backs, moving shoulders independently instead of squarely when they turn... that's enough to let that angle show more obviously through the material of your shirt.

`I have the Double Front Compression Shirt from Underworks but due to the roll up, I can't really exercise with it at all.
Anybody have any suggestions for what I could use and still pass? I have a bigger chest as well so I don't sports bras would help much, but then again I haven't been in one in years.

Also, there is a site I came across (removed) that helps out guys who can't afford to buy a binder.

Good luck :-)

`I was just about to suggest the transitionalmale site as well. Awesome group of guys.
Roughly 4 years ago, I was 35lbs heavier and was 'blessed/cursed' with DD's. Ace bandages didn't suffice for long, and I progressed onto the 'waist trimmers' in the fitness department. Sometimes they're labeled for back support, but mostly they are just designed to make you sweat. No, they're not comfortable, and sweating is enough of a problem without dealing with the Texas heat. At DD, the waist trimmer did its job the best it could, but Flat certainly wasn't what I achieved.

35lbs lighter (vigorous dog walking 4 times a day) my chest is roughly a 36 B. Hell of an improvement in my eyes. It is now possible for me to achieve a 'flat profile', however I still lack the funds for a true binder from underworks.

No, I don't actually recommend the 'binders' found in the fitness department of walmart, BUT they ARE slightly more pleasant/effective than ace bandages.
Here's to savin up for the 'real thing'

Underworks are not too expensive, and they work great! I get the double front compression and step into it. (I used this video to learn how to step into it.)

I was a 40E or 40EE. At first the binder didn't seem to do the trick and it hurt to breathe. But after a year of binding (and 9 months on Testosterone), it's very easy to wear a binder and appear flat.

Don't use ace bandages as they can really cause damage.
