So, out of curiosity, does anyone feel that there are some piercings directed more towards one gender or the other? (aside from gentital piercings of course)
The debate in my house is basically,
wether or not Belly Button rings look 'gay' on 'straight men'.

Perhaps its my affinity for androgeny, but I don't mind nice abs on either gender, jewelry or not.

Tongue rings are accepted on both genders, as are Nipple rings.
So why not Navel rings?

As someone who's experienced piercings in every Possible location, maybe I have a skewed view.

So what do you think?

Chick piercings/dude piercings?

I meant what I said, I said what I meant, and an elephant is honest 100%

`I haven't heard of a straight man getting a belly piercing...I suppose the belly is seen as a more fem area? I have heard of gay men getting their belly buttons pierced though.

From my point of view I would say it leans more towards being fem, which doesn't mean a straight man can't get one. In fact I think it would take a man who is very secure in their s----lity to get one, and I say I am all for it. But if we had to choose, I am going to say it is a chick piercing.

`Well, since you need jewelry for piercings, than the piercing in general is more associated with female gender, therefore piercings (in my opinion) looks better on girls rather than boys.
Only 2 piercings I can stand on male are nipple and nose septum piercing, everything else is gayish, eeeeespecially navel ring! ou hell no, what is wrong with you o_O

However, it depends on one's point of view. I dislike any type of jewerly on (straight) male, even finger rings, therefore of course that piece of jewerly on a man's face (or even worse - belly??) is like a fist in my eye. (and when I say jewerly I mean pearcing jewerly - titanium or stainless steel studs, not some grandma's old gold earrings)

`well body modification is a passion of mine, i have many and i have done several for others. Haven't heard of many straight men gettin navel rings, but personally i think it depends on the jewlery i don't really see a straight guy wearing a dangly ring with rinstones or something. it depends on the person and the jewelry.

`----... Depends on what scene your into homie, I used to roll with the piercings and some of my firends had more piercings than I have ever seen on a person. My opnion is this... Yes that s--- is more asscoiated with the female (belly button) but why be defined within damn lines? Be a trend setter.. get what ever piercing you want, for ---- sake its a piercing its not like its your genitals .. (no pun) Shiny piercings are more femineninity, than just straight up barbells. Industrials all around both gender. But I would have to say jeweled piercings deff fall into a more flamboyent category. Remeber sometimes we quit often project who we are inside outwards into our dress and attitude. Peace....

`I still think an earring in both ears looks feminine but I see men with them all the time now. The times they are-a changin'.
