I dont know if this is the right place to ask, but I just felt I wanted to..
all transgender people would problebly nood about the fact they might have been dicriminated in a way or another or been into trouble, but have you ever been looked on with bad eyes cause you stood up for another transgender person without having your own life invold?
I tried this today and that why I want to ask:
have any of you guys, transgender or not, tried to get into trouble or mess cause you stood up for a transgender person.. yes or no?
how?
I would like to heard some storys:
p.s. sorry about my english...

Fortunately, no. People know how I feel and I'm not willing to receive a lot of criticism, nor do I dole it out if people don't agree.

`Hello.. About 3 years ago I had stopped at a gas station/mini mart and saw a young man ( 18-19) years old looking at the chips, he had longer fingernails and they were painted pink. He was wearing some make-up but nothing extreme. Two men that were buying Beer pushed him while they were walking by him knocking a bag of chips out of his hand and called him a fag.. It scared him you could tell. I walked over to the young man and picked up the bag of chips the guys had made him drop and then pushed one of the guys against the counter and told him to tell the young man he was sorry, He did !! I gave the young man a kiss on the cheek and told him he looked pretty and then made sure he got to his car without further problems. The two guys that were being such a-holes could both have used a bit of make-up themselves.. Sometimes you just have to stand up for others and not let the bullies in this world get away with being mean.. Tyler

`I understand what you're saying. I'm very good at standing up for other people when I see that they are uncomfortable or being hurt. But then when it comes to defending myself, I guess I expect someone else to rush to my aid to protect me. So I just sit there and take it, expecting someone else to take care of my problem. Sometimes there won't be anyone there to help you, or stand up for you. And sometimes YOU'RE the one meant to stick up for yourself. It's how you can build up self-asteem, confidence and toleration. It also lets yourself know that you are there for you and you can take care of yourself, which is extremely important. And no, I dont think you're a bad example....it's so hard to put your foot down and speak against people when you are the target. I still have trouble defending myself and telling others to back off when nessesary, but I know that if I dont do it, why should anyone else?
Sorry for my rant....it's a habit *rolls eyes* =) ~Em~

`It's a shame that people act like that. No morals.

`em: for me I find it really hard to stand up for someone if I am unsure if it the good or bad thing they do.
ex: someone say something bad to a person but your unsure if it was a joke or he ment it really to hurt him..
xmistro: could you get a little more into details wich kinds of people's act you dosent like?

I wouldn't say it was actual trouble but I threatened my dad during a meal once because he was being offensive and consciously bigoted. I was discussing an ftm I know, referring to him as he which is how he feels, and my dad cut across me and asked "You mean she?", deliberately to get a reaction.
So I tried to correct him and when he wouldn't be corrected I told him if he couldn't contribute something adult to the conversation then he would end up locking horns with me, and he would lose. So he went back to eating his dinner and said no more about it.

`Thanks, I like to think so. He needs kept in line, otherwise he likes to rant and rave about things he's got no understanding of.
