The forum area is a separate area, and blocking the view of specific posts by specific members would be very difficult. Plus, it could make reading a forum thread completely confusing, especially if the person blocked had posted a comment within a forum thread. By blocking their comment, the reader would see what was written before their comment, and then the response to the blocked member's comment...which may or may not makes sense in the 'flow' of the forum thread.
I suppose the upside to this is that someone who isn't contributing to the thread in a constructive, or at least witty and interesting manner and who is an attention seeking drama queen might (hopefully) stop due to the lack of response?

While it might be possible to block individual comments, we think it would be a difficult programming challenge, and that it would likely make the forum more confusing. Nevertheless, we'll discuss it...but this is much less likely to be put in place.
How about the user being able to block a thread then? That way one can avoid the boring topics (subjective I know) and not have to see notifications of recent replies once a thread is blocked?

As to displaying the most recent posts since your last login, we can look at providing a 'shuffle' option, but our thinking was that most people would want to see the latest posts in each site in their account based on how recently they were posted. Again, we'll discuss it, and make a decision based on the amount of programming time that would be required.
Thanks,
.
Sometimes I log in to see the same posts that were there before, yet are showing as most recent since my last login. Perhaps people have edited and re-submitted the same post. How about a Mark as read feature or something that recognises that it is an old post re-submitted?

`Yes well, though these are all really nice, but the largest problems to be able to put sOme of these suggestions into motion are resources and time. This is of course a free site and they do not generate much, if any income for upgrades on that level. I can respect that, but I absolutely am tickled damn pink by your suggestions, some are very cool. =D

Of course being a free site, resources for development are likely to be limited. I was just thinking that some of your suggestions were very good, but having read Mr Feedback's reply, that perhaps they could tackle it from a slightly different angle or at least consider the feasibility of alternatives to those you suggested which might have a desired outcome whilst being "do-able"?
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. :)

Well, they have made some "do-able" progress here lately. There are of course lots of things that could be improved. I fear that at the time I posted this someone was harassing me and let's just say a little to concerned about what was going on in my life. No worries though mate thanks for the heroism. Cheers.

Just a quick update:
The primary issue for us is determing the time and energy involved in attempting to address specific feature requests.
As an example, we were programming non-stop from 1:30pm yesterday until 1:00am last night.
A couple of issues were addressed...some broadcasted, others not.
One example.
We have been asked to limit members from being able to view other member's profile pages, if someone is 'blocked'.
As we stated, the 'blocked' member can just logout to view the profile...so we tried to figure out what the actual issue is (especially since the blocked member cannot contact the 'blocker').
We decided that the 'blockers' do not like to see the 'blockees' in their 'Who Viewed Me' area.
So, while blocked members can still view profiles, whether they are logged in or not, they cannot contact the members who blocked them, and they cannot list a blocked member as a Favorite/Friend, and now they will not show up within the 'blocker's' Who Viewed Me page.
While this doesn't actually block the member from viewing a profile, it does virtually eliminate the blocked member from the blocker's day-to-day account management.
They may still see blocked members within chat or posting in the forum, but those are different issues, that are much more complex in nature.
Aside from that issue, we also changed the photo privacy settings to allow members to change photo privacy without having to delete and re-upload images. As silly as it was, that was the way the system worked until last night.
Independent of those two issues, there were a number of isolated bug/glitch fixes.
But most of our time was spent on a very big change that will be introduced into the network soon.
We have a pretty strong distance search system for the U.S. and Canada, but our Search system is WEAK for any other Country.
That is going to change in a very big way within the next few weeks.
We will be requiring International members to input their location information in a different way, that will allow for distance searching within International locations.
This means that if you live in Germany, and you want to find other people in Germany, you won't be forced to seach the whole Country (which is the sad way the system works now). Instead, you will be able to search based on a specific distance from a specific location in Germany.
We will be rolling this out soon, but it will be in stages.
The first stage will just begin requiring International members to re-enter their location information (ie. Country, Region/State/Province/Territory, City).
We will not enable the new International distance search system until we have collected a sizeable amount of new location data...because otherwise, people would search and not find anyone.
We may have both options available as we bridge over to the new system.
This new project will significantly increase the 'useability' of Passions Network sites Internationally, and we are really excited by the potential from this project.
In parallel with the new system, we will be rolling out approximately 20 Country level sites, aimed at helping International members meet online.
So...while we want you guys to continue to send in ideas and requests, try not to be discouraged if it takes time for things to be worked on. The only reason for a delay in a project is because we are SWAMPED with other things actively being worked on.
But we still want any and all suggestion and/or buggy issues sent into us.
Everything is read. Everything is considered. (Not everything is done...but at least it is give a good review.)
Thanks,
.

Well that was going to be my next suggestion, as there is no point if people from the other side of the planet get you in their search (and vice versa).
This is excellent news and thank you for your comprehensive reply regarding this and the other issues.
