Why is this a common trend? This phrase? I dont get this one either. Are they fkin embarassed to say Transgender? Are they scared that someone they know will come across thier profile... that way they can defend themselves? How does it sound..? Let me try "hello my name is Bob and Im looking for a special lady, I want to point out that she is "special" not in a short bus kind of fckin way, but a transgender kind of way. So i will just call her "special" like she needs to be tied up in a straight jacket and placed in a padded cell for being alive" Ok did that sound good? I dont know.... I tried dammit.

`Not everyone likes to speak bluntly about topics that are sensitive to them, and not universally out of shame. I have something of a soft skin on the issue myself, and probably would just isolate myself for life, kill myself, or become a celibate priest or something if it wasn't for so many others demonstrating that it can be done, and that happiness is possible.
Euphemisms tend to bother me too though, as if avoiding a dirty word. It doesn't bother me if someone is more comfortable with that though. I don't know them or what they've been through, and if I try hard to accommodate them, they will likely feel the need to explain themselves eventually, giving me the context and opportunity to give a counter-perspective, if I saw fit.

`I agree with the terms but not the idea sumtimes its the woman who can't handle the idea of being called transgendered or maybe they have --- across a sensitive person who checked they're --- as for special we are all special not in a short bus kinda way but a bag of diamonds kind of way all good and valuable. But individually unique........even the nut jobs ........urs truly glinda the good witch :-)

`I can explain why I use the phrase special girl. My experience in chat, many transgender sites advise up front that -------, preop, transsexual, and even transgender classifications may be seen offensive. I was taught by a girl over twenty years ago in chat that, it is not what is between your legs that determines who you are but what is between your ears. This taught me that regardless of a girls stage of physical development they are all female between their ears. Thus they are special girls, or women. For me it is the most respectfully way of addressing a girl. I have never, until today thought that any girl would see special as being derogatory. If I ever upset someone by calling her special I would apologize profusely and try to explain my admiration of her.
