I'm a cisgender nursing student who's always had an interest in dating men that aren't necessarily gender normative. I'm kind of ignorant about a lot of trans issues, but I really like people and I love to learn and I feel like everything happens for a reason, so I joined.

I really look forward to making new friends and seeing new perspectives on stuff.

I guess I'm not very interested in transvestites. As I understand it, that pretty much refers to a fetishist. I've got nothing against fetishists. I don't think I understand your question, entirely.

Are you asking who I like romantically? Men. Period. Cisgender men or FTMs. That is all. I understand when a woman is attractive, but I'm not attracted to her.

As far as talking to people, I'll talk to anyone. I'm most interested in talking to and learning from MTFs and FTMs who are in transition. It's always been a point of interest for me from an endocrine POV. I think it's really important in modern nursing not to be acultural (to pretend that differences don't exist), but to be multicultural. So in getting my nursing degree, I'd love to find a way to incorporate that into my knowledge base and present that to others.

There's a lot of discussion how to treat specifically biologically male or female patients (of course), or black patients, or religious minority patients, or even gay patients now. There's not a lot of information on nursing as it pertains to trans patients.

There's no need for me to tell you the estimates of trans people are as high as 1:2000, so it's not a low enough number to warrant being ignorant.
