Hi
I have just started Hormone therapy and I was informed by my Doctor that I could have an orchiectomy to help improve my overall outcome .I have investigated a little about this and the results look promising .What I was wanting to ask was has anyone her had this procedure? and has it helped you to look more feminine ?I think I would prefer this procedure as it means that I would not have to take as much medication, is this true?

`Simple answers No and No! Why your Doctor would have told you that is a bit strange .

If you intend to have full surgery then just wait. The drugs avialable are safe! Having Decapeptyl injections every 12 weeks will do the same job and drop your testo levels to below a genetic females in 6 months along with Finasteride daily.

Its the HRT that alters your body but at your age you will have to do as i do just work on your figure with exersize and good diet but HRT will not alter your face or feminise your face "again at your age" if you were in your teens then it maybe a different story but the best you can expect is softer skin.

Being d will just remove an anouying part of your body.

I do not think you should be asking just anyone about topics such as this as you "could" be misinformed and as you discribe yourself as "a male" on your profile maybe you need to find your true self and be sure you want to alter your body at-all!

If in your mind you consider yourself to be male then no doctor should even consider giving you any HRT or any of the above drugs i have mentioned it is incompetence from a medical expert.

Julia.

Thanks for your point of view but just because you do not agree with me does not mean that I am no more a transsexual than you are .I identify as male because that is what I am there is no changing history ,If you want to believe that you are something else then that is you prerogative .I definitely know who and what I am .I am asking this question because I do not want to have full surgery and have you even looked at what this surgery entails ,Again thank you for you input but if you can not be objective then keep your subjective opinions to your self . I do not wish to offensive I apologise if you are

`Your doctor should be struck off! And you should have a serious think about what you are attempting to do!There have been many "men" in the past who have commited suicide because of having a fantasy about being a woman and then after altering thier bodies could no longer cope with what they had done "taken thier manhood away".

I would advise you "not" to call me or any other MTF transexual a "transsexual" or refere to them as a "man" I am a woman "a transexual woman" and i cannot get away from the fact that i was born in the wrong body but my mind is and always has been female .

You should find yourself another doctor and seek help from a shrink because after what you have posted here and on your profile you are displaying signs of confusion and you should stop taking any hormone therapy now before it causes you iriversable damage.

Don't ask me if i know what the surgery intails! You are the one who needs to do your home work you proved that by asking the question you asked at the start of this! If you knew you would not have asked the question. I see real experts who identified me as female years ago and if you lived in the UK you would not get a hormone from any doctor and no expert in his right mind would give you surgery.

You do not need hormone therapy but you do need to see a therapist and get your head sorted out! Please tell me what is the purpose of a man not being a man?.

You identifie as a man and that is what you are! "Your words" so stop playing games with yourself and just wake up.

You have not offended me! believe me it takes a lot to do that because i live in the real world not a fantasy one .If i were in your position i would end this here but if you wish to continue then you feel free to carry on making a fool of yourself. You identifie as a man but want to be d?????? Now that proves you need help! You will be totaly disfunctional as a man s----ly.

You asked a question you got your answer or would you prefere false answers? would it make you feel better if you were mislead or lied to? Well sorry but as i said you asked the question and got the truth and by your response i guess it hurt.

As you identifie as a man then why post this in the MTF Discussions?.

Julia.

`I am a transwoman. I am pre-op in California. I have founded the Solano County LGBTIQ Resource Center in Solano County, CA. I do agree with Julia4you as you do not want an orchi (for one reason, if you decide to go through with the rest of the SRS surgery, then if you previously had the orchi, most good surgeons will not attempt the SRS at all). Your scrotum will shrink over time from an orci, not allowing the surgeon enough skin to work with.

I am middle aged 52, BTW, and have been on hormones and therapy for just over 2 years now, and am comfortable waiting another 2 years for my surgery. Do not try to rush mother nature, enjoy your second puberty, as you have a lot to learn, many challenges to overcome and ultimately knowing yourself.

I understand that you placed male as your gender, the reason people get confused is that most transsexuals do not state their biological gender but their identified gender, as I identify as a woman therefore I am a woman, no longer a man. My documents (Drivers License, Social Security Card, and Birth Certificate now all state my new name and gender, even though I have not completed my surgery.

I wish you good luck, and my advice would be to find a doctor and a therapist that specializes in transsexual issues. They are the most important pieces in your tool box as well as a good trans womans group (group therapy).

Abi
