I am a transgender woman. My pronouns are she/her. I came out as a transgender woman on September 28th, 2024. I have also hidden myself for 30 years due to the fear of being ostracized. This was because I was bullied at school, -------- harassed at one of my old workplaces, and was traumatized at that same workplace when they wouldn't hire a fellow transgender woman. Also, I was surrounded by a previous community that wasn't as accepting of the trans community. Ever since I was six, I wanted to be female, but out of fear, I have forced myself to repress the feelings of being female. When I was six, I saw girls' clothes for the first time. Ever since, I would wish I were a girl. I didn't know about these feelings at the time, and I didn't know about transgenderism until later in life. I just went with what society expected out of me. After I came out as a transgender woman, I felt a whole burden had been lifted off of me. Thinking about my feelings or gender dysphoria, I felt that there was a beautiful girl trapped within me. Now that girl within me has grown up to be a woman, and she wants out! Who or what was that woman trapped within me, you might ask? That happens to be the real me, as my true gender. Or you can say, my true, authentic self as a transgender woman.
