I have identified as lesbian my entire life. My partner of several years began speaking of and addressing her/his gender confusion, which had always been present but never spoken. Since we identified as a lesbian couple it began an amazing journey for both of us. I loved and adored this person, was 100% supportive and continue to be. Ultimately the relationship ended, although not related to gender issues. My own process in this relationship, allowed me to expand my own identity as a queer person and those I am attracted to. As I have explained to friends, this does not mean I am no longer lesbian or attracted to lesbian women-simply that my circle of attraction has broadened to include genderqueers, FTM/non binary humans. I have most clearly identified as an adrongynous person and continue to be most drawn to androgony in all.
