Looking for acceptance

Since early pre-puberty years, my tastes have included more female-oriented things (eg clothes), while i also enjoy more boy-like activities (eg maintaining my own vehicles), and i have described myself as androgynous before now.
During my childhood and while growing-up, i couldn't express myself fully due to a physically and emotionally abusive father (no s----l abuse thankfully!), and the social mores.
A few years ago, i visited a Gender Dysporia specialist who gave me the label 'transsexual', although i now describe myself as 'girl brain, boy body'.
Although i have a 'girl brain', that doesn't mean that i'm gay - that just doesn't interest me - and that's one of the reasons i don't want to transition.
(Others being i shave my head and have a small beard !)
Although i function ok in this society, i'd like to find out if there are others like me out there, and maybe find someone special to share with, preferably a genetic female.
