"THE" way does not exist. I'm finally feeling ready to get on with my life after the end of a painful LTR, but there is still some other crap I must put behind me, so I'm a little preoccupied. Nevertheless, I definitely don't wish to be alone much longer. However, until I take care of a few things, I don't believe I can be more than a friend to anyone. Of course, friends may become lovers, but while I do hope to find a special someone in the not-so-distant future, I have no expectations. When you don't expect things from others, you cannot be disappointed, and from time-to-time, you get a pleasant surprise. // If a friendship should eventually lead to romance, then I do not desire a mere fling. I'm not a promiscuous person, and even though few things are certain, once a relationship gets off the ground, there should be a mutual commitment to making it work. Moreover, I desire a true life-partner – an equal who shares many of my values but is not merely a female version of myself. It's great when two people complement each other, so that where the one is weak, the other is strong. Thus, they can challenge each other and facilitate each other's spiritual and intellectual growth. // I have long been a proponent for the acceptance of transgendered people. However, until recently, the question of a possible romantic relationship with a transgendered person was moot for me, because I honestly thought I would spend the rest of my life with my last partner. Now that I find myself single once more, I am open to the possibility of a LTR with any lady whom I get along with well, regardless of the genetic and anatomical details.
